Vasiliki; this harbour is probably the most pleasant and also most authentic of this isle. A place where the fishing boats are still moored and where you can sit on the waterside for hours.
In the past Vasiliki was called Kolivata after one of the first families that settled down here. On the occasion of a later wedding of a young Koliva the place got the name of the bride: Vasiliki. The way to this village is a nice green route with beautiful deep bays and high mountains. Vasiliki itself is an excellent place for surfing, sailing and parasailing.
Regularly you see them skimming over the water at a high speed. With a little boat, from the port of Vasiliki, you can go to the Agiofili beach. Very special is the Porto Katsiki beach that is surrounded by a breathtakingly high cliff. This rock can also be reached via an imposing route from Athani to Porto Katsiki. The beach won the first prize for the most beautiful and cleanest beach of Greece.
The bright blue deep bay between the mountains, restaurants, taverns, the Greek jovial atmosphere and the various good overnight stays make Vasiliki in the isle of Lefkada or Lefkas an excellent holiday spot.
