G ythio; a pleasant lively seaport. Good exit place for trips across land and sea both to various destinations. It is the largest city in the Mani region. The isle of Marathonisi can be reached via a longitudinal embankment from the esplanade in Gythio.

New camping that was opened in spring 2007. It is a spacious camp site of 40.000 square metres. The camp site is suitable for less valid people. There is a beach bar, mini market, washing machines, first aid, television, tennis court and a modern restaurant. The private beach is 250 metres long and is situated on the Vathy beach.

The owner of restaurant Barba Sideris is a butcher by profession. He skilfully butchers the meat on spot. Your meals will be served on paper. Plates and cutlery are handed out on request. The meat is of an excellent quality, tastefully cooked end served with home- drawn wines. Situated at the boulevard, on the corner. In the direction to Sparta.

The isle of Marathonisi can be reached via a dike or levee from the espalade in Gythio. G lifada beach
A bit further than Gythio you find this beautiful sandy beach where you can moor pleasantly, just like the boat that came here 24 years ago and never left. Good restaurant with fresh fish and Greek meat dishes, wine and ouzo of the house, average prices. Open from 1 June till 1 October. From 2008 you can enjoy a drink at the new beach bar.

3 kilometres further than the Glifada beach is a beautiful bay. This restaurant with a beautiful view of Gythio is just near the beach. Especially in the evening this is a wonderful view. The restaurant has many traditional Greek dishes and fresh fish.
