A  rachova is a cosy mountain village, 980 metres above sea level, ski resort or, for cool summer holidays, far from the bustling holiday centres. It is situated close to the Itea beaches, at 8 kilometres from Delphi and 180 kilometres from Athens. On the Parnassos Mountain, with a height of 2455 metres, you find the largest ski resort of Greece. The centre offers 20 routes with a total length of 14 kilometres. It is relaxing to go for a walk along the beautiful quiet fields and mountain slopes in winter-dress, and also in spring when the snow is melting and blossom in all its splendour comes out. The area is also well-known for the several kinds of butterflies.

The most important festival; the Panigyraki, is celebrated from 22- 25 April and it commemorates the victory of the Greek over the Ottoman Empire in 1826. The village is completely decorated with the Greek flag and people dress up in the style of those days. On top of the church the Arachovan soldiers' white flag with a dragon and the words "Freedom or death" is flying. During the festival the source is disconnected. On the day that the Panigyraki singers reach the song: "Apola Draco to nero, na pyi to panyiri"(dragon of the water, let the water stream so that we can drink), the water is connected again.
